I am doing indexing/reviewing of South Africa—Dutch Reformed Church Registers, 1660–1970 [Part C][M3X3-5VF] and came across a couple lists of plex records of approximately 40 names with dates and locations. I looked up on google that "plex" referred to a type of girls' safe house in South Africa, but the indexing project refers to completing birth, death, and marriage records, etc. So would this type of plex list be indexed or not? I was referring to one review sheet, and because it was a plex record, the indexer had listed it as "No Extractable Data." Is that correct? Even though there are such specific names and dates and locations attached?

Plek is place ie the town. They are baptisms and must be indexed but note the date shown is the birth date, not the baptism date and is wrong in pi example

Thank you for such a quick response. Please be patient with my follow up question, Gary... I'm sorry if I sound dumb. If I index it as a baptism record, I'm not able to indicate that it is a BIRTH date on the record... So do I indicate it as a birth record? Or is there a way to indicate that it is a baptism record, but a BIRTH date?

When you select baptism from the drop down choice and start entering the data, you will see the entry fields available include birth day, month and year. Baptism date will be entered blank ie ctrl b

Sorry, one more quick question... Is the plek (place) listed the place of the baptism? or the place of birth? Where should that info be entered? @gary_noble

Yes, plek is the place of baptism, entered in the "baptism place" field
