add spouse grayed out
Hello
My wife has a tree under her account name in which I am the spouse. If I log in under my own account name, there is no existing tree for me and FamilySearch wants me to start a new tree. Why aren't I connected to my wife's tree? If I start a tree with me and add in my parents, I cannot add in my wife - the "add spouse" link is grayed out. I don't get it at all! Seems to me if this is one tree and I put in my birth info, I should then see my wife's tree with all our common ancestors listed. Thank you for explaining this mystery to me.

Family Tree is a single tree for all deceased people and only one copy of any deceased person should appear in it. But due to privacy laws, regulations, and concerns, any living person entered in to Family Tree is only visible to the person who entered that profile. You will need to put in a duplicate copy of yourself, your wife, your parent, her parents, until you link into deceased people. Then you and your wife will see the same people.
I have no idea what the trouble could be with adding your wife, however. I haven't seen anyone create a new profile in years and am not familiar with the current process.

Thank you, Gordon, for your comment. I will keep adding people, as you suggested. However, I had already put in my parents who are both deceased before I posted my query. Maybe my tree needs more "zombies" in it before my wife and I see the same people....

Has your wife added your parents? If yes, did you use those same profiles for them, or did you create duplicates?
Like Gordon, I have no clue why "add spouse" would be grayed out. Can you perhaps post a (suitably anonymized) screenshot of what you see?
