I am Indexing Wills and Probates. Most times they appear together in the same batch. Where it asks for Will or Probate year which year do I put in if both appear on the record - Will year or Probate year?

The general indexing guidelines for dates say -

General

• If multiple dates were given for a birth, type the earliest date.

• If multiple dates were given for other events, type the most recent or latest date.
