Duplicate entries on census; please delete them
(No obvious way to report problems---room for improvement!)
Names have been indexed multiple times for the Earle family on this census page, seems to keep screwing up the algorithm:

@Mike357 This appears to be similar to the errors we were seeing in the 1900 and other censuses, where names have replicated in the index.

Thanks for pointing out this error in the 1940 United States Census. I do see, as you, that members of the Earle family and others appear in the Image Index multiple times. As a result, or coincidently, other names on the census do not appear in the Image Index for that census page.
This is a known problem that we have recently seen frequently. It is now being reviewed and addressed by the appropriate team.
If you find that a family member is not found in the Image Index, you do have the option to still attach the census record, as a source, to their individual records in Family Tree by using the Source Box. If you are unfamiliar with the Source Box, the following Help Center articles will guide you.
