South Africa, Johannesburg—Cemetery Records,No heading on the record
South Africa, Johannesburg—Cemetery Records, 1942–2020 [Part F][MQ3F-1QV]
There are no headings on the information columns on this record. I don't know if a date if for birth, death or burial. I also don't know what column is the cemetery name. I need to be able to identify the field before I can index them.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

Unfortunately this same problem is going to keep recurring. The way the project is set up this info does not show on most batches. Column headings are only viewable on the first image of the film. This current batch is from Avalon Cemetery

I am having trouble deciding what the columns mean in a South African burial register.
South Africa, Johannesburg—Cemetery Records, 1942–2020 [Part F][MQ3F-1DT] The images I could reference to, are too far back or too far forward to see what they mean. Could someone clue me in?
Thank you!

Hi @hectorfernandotorres1 Gary Nobel has an excellent answer, you may want to print out his screen shot (snip) so you can refer to it throughout this project 😎

Does column 13 refer to the date and time of the burial?

@gary_noble Do all of the images that match this particular column format come from Avalon Cemetary or should we be leaving the cemetary name field blank?

@DAVVK1 yes it is date of burial, although column heading is cut off @gublerholly images coming through may be mixed, and therefore not necessarily all be Avalon, although the current ones do seem to be. Please see my post on how to find cemetery names

This is the batch I'm working on. There are lots of dates on the paper but no heading as to what they signify.

I am currently indexing South Africa, Johannesburg—Cemetery Records, 1942–2020 [Part F][MQ3J-YX2] and for one image it has the normal cemetery records for twins, the next image has a person requesting permission to change the previous gravestone. It doesnt have any new information, it just is requesting permission to change the gravestone. How should I index this image or should I put it as no extractable data?

Could I get the headers for my batch to confirm which data is indexable?

Gary - where can I find your post on how to find cemetery names?

I'm trying to help with this one too and was trying to piece together the information with the columns given here. Is the initials the given name or the next of kin? Because I thought the next of kin was the person they were most closely related to... I'm just not really sure where the given name is found.

Hi
Can someone tell me if column 2, 7 or 9 are death dates?

Hi livelite, when I tried to go back to the originals for this batch, the number given under About Batch led to a dead end. For this reason I was not able to find the column headings.
column #9 has both a date and a time. This would most likely be the burial date and time. #7 is a few days before the burial so I assume this would be the date of death. #1 and #2 are probably the invoice number and invoice date. The last column re-open just indicates that they are using a previous grave site for an additional burial.
I Hope this is helpful🙂

Thanks Larry but without conclusive headers to confirm, I will need to return the batch
