The following record has data that is incorrect and can not be edited. "Massachusetts, Town Clerk, Vital and Town Records, 1626-2001," database with images, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q29G-PK4D : 19 May 2022), Ebenezer Childs, 17 Jan 1756; citing Death, Sandwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States, Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth, Boston; FHL microfilm 007009780.

Pg 322, Para 6 "Hannah Ye Wife Died Feb 23 1755." This is the spouse of Ebenezer Jr (1723-?) not the wife of "Deacon Ebenezer Childs Died Jan 17, 1756." This is Ebenezer Sr (1601-1756) whose spouse was Hope Howland. The record shows the wrong spouse.

That's not data. That's an index: a finding aid for data. The fact that you're pointing out a discrepancy with the document is proof that the index did its job: you found the data.

(While the indexers unquestionably made a mistake, it's not their job to sort out all those Ebenezers or the ambiguous way the record is written.)

Welcome to FamilySearch Community @DRussell4. Thank you for letting us know there is an issue with how the record was indexed. While this cannot currently be edited, you can still attach the record to the appropriate person in the Family Tree. (See How do I attach a historical record to a person in Family Tree?)

In this case, I would attach this record to the Ebenezer Childs (K8CZ-FMX) who died 17 Jan 1756 and make a note that the index says his wife is Hannah but the original document states Hannah is his daughter-in-law.
