    1950 census my father was white not negro I would like to correct this as it does not say his race was negro on the census formThis was indexed incorrectly All other information on other census forms list him correctly as white He was the son of Austrian Galician Jews and he was born here in the USA in 1898 Family Search has his race listed incorrectly on the 1950 census index

    1950 Census was indexed probably mostly by a computer (artificial intelligence system) - you can probably thank the computer for a mistake.

    I just checked and the 1950 US Census currently does not allow for Race to be a correctable field on FS. At least for the State I checked. Just attached the source and put a Note in explaining the error.
