Hijacked it seems
Someone has changed my family tree and I cant seem to change it back. They changed the father of my great grandfather and try as I may following the written directions I cant change it back. Its says its not unable to edit when I hover on the name. I absolutely know it is incorrect and have proof as in a tombstone with my great great grandfathers name just a few miles from my home. Can anyone help?

Sorry for pointing out some obvious questions about your situation.
- What written instructions are you using?
- Are you logged into FamilySearch? You will be unable to edit if you are not logged in.
- If you put the person ID at the end of https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/ - you should be able to edit the Name in the Vitals section - unless the profile is of a prominent read-only person.
I hope #2 or #3 will help.

Good morning, @John Michael Abbott. Have you looked at the changelog (down the right side) of the profile of your great grandfather or his father? There should be "breadcrumbs" showing what changes were made, when, and by whom.
If you can share the profile number (near his name on the profile page), it's easier to be more specific.

I put the person ID at the end of https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/ - you should be able to edit the Name in the Vitals section. As suggested and I found links easier than through help section.

It's awesome when FamilySearch Community can help (especially if resolving a problem that has been long-standing)!
[Just for a little clarity] If you want to edit a profile (Name, Date, Place, Vital Record/Event, etc. ) -
you can do so on the Person page/Details:
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/
... after you log into FamilySearch
... unless the profile is read-only.
