Trying to establish if grandmother’s sister existed.
My grandmother, Gladys Lingham Pearce, nee Murray, passed away in June 2011, but in 2007, mentioned to my mother and aunt that she had a sister who was born and died in Canada. But we knew nothing of her existence and have been unable to find her, if she did exist.
My great grandparents, Myra Murray, nee Lingham & Alexander Murray took my grandmother to Canada in 1920, when she was 10 months old, and I found the passenger list to confirm this. Myra’s parents visited a couple of times, and I’ve seen the passenger list confirming this too, along with their destination of Elm Street, Peterborough (which appears to exist no longer). The family returned to the UK in 1927, and I’ve seen the return to Liverpool passenger list that identifies my great grandparents and my grandmother and no other children, although Myra was pregnant with my grand uncle, William Lingham Murray, who was born in January 1928 in the UK. I’ve tried to search the Canada 1921 Census and can’t find the family. I’ve searched birth records for a child born with surname Murray, to Alexander Murray & Myra Murray, nee Lingham, and again, nothing.
Can anyone suggest anything that I might not have considered to find whether a sister existed or not, please?
