Hello, I came across a few individuals who were detained while trying to enter the US through Ellis Island in 1908. In the column "cause of detention" there's a few codes. One of them I was able to figure out (C.L. meaning contracted laborer) but the rest of the coding is the question. It's written "CL with SI 9 [and the other has a 10 instead] ." What do these codes mean and is there a public resource for these codes? Thanks.
