David Jno David L8BW-JTN
I believe I am related to a pastor David Davies of Llangybi Cardigan Wales of 1745. There are two churches. The Methodist and the Presbyterian. The Methodist was about 30 people in the 1830's and the Presbyterian was built in 1660's and went independent in 1760's .The Methodist church was built in 1795. David Jno David or David David's father was married to Suanna Thomas in about 1795 but in the temple journal she is referred to as Mrs. Ann Davies. I found a pension record on a John Davies that was from Cardiganshire and retired in Neath. Accord to David Davies of 1745 his son David was David Davies of Neath. I found a David John Davies death certificate in Neath in 1856. I have John as a lodger at 76 in a 1851 census. My father could not find any records in Ohio on John Davies. This is where the family relocated after joining the church in Wales. I am at home and have not been able to look at the sources on the non conformist church record of 1830 on L8BW-JTN or the military pension record or the death record from Neath. I have attach these records to the tree but some of the dates are within 2 to 3 years of David Davies son of David Jno Davies christened on April 6,1799. Because of the fame of the pastor, I am using great caution when going down this route. If true there would be 4 generations of David John David or Davies in this linage. I would like someone with more professional knowledge to help me with prof or disproving of my theory. @SerraNola @Darris Williams @Cedar Kedar @PABulfinch

Just looked at this page again. https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/CGN/Llangybi/Chapels and it is seams that there was a chapel in 1795. Capel Ffynnon CM "Erected first in 1795 in the Parish of Bettws Bledrws, rebuilt in the Parish of Llangybi in 1838" on this web site David Davies was born in Betws Bledrws, Cardiganshire. https://biography.wales/article/s-DAVI-DAV-1745. I am going to put my note in the thread. Found a census record of a John David living with a David Thomas And Margret and nephew David Davies at 3 years old. But John David is 999 years old on the census???? John son of David??? John Davies recorded himself. David Thomas as head of House at 86 years old and Margret Thomas as 72 years old. Margret Davies is 30 an possibly the mother to David the nephew.

May I suggest that a Welsh group should be set up? In the meantime I do speak and read Welsh - Cymraeg - and I am very willing to help with records in that language. The sources in the language for family history research are very rich. The National Library of Wales has put a very large amount of these sources into the public domain and they searchable for free on the Internet for free on the Internet. The NLW has also put on line the massive series of detailed maps and valuation data surrounding the Tithe Apportionment around 1840, with records of landowners and tenants for virtually every farm and smallholding in the country. Nonconformist records are often very valuable.
