Is anyone else having to keep signing in to Community or getting additional security check in?
Over the last few days or so I am constantly having to sign-in to Community, even though I am not taking breaks and continue to be logged into Family Tree.
Until quite recently, the opposite was the case - i.e., I seemed to remain signed in here all day (even if I left Community for hours), but did need to sign-in to Family Tree / FamilySearch after an around 40 minute break.
Definitely not a cookies problem, but admit I've only been using Firefox this week, so unsure if a browser issue.

@Paul W The log out issue is is being investigated currently. There was a security update last week and the engineers think that is causing the problem. They are working to fix it.
The image issue has an engineering ticket and they are trying to get resolved as well.

CURRENT INFO ON KNOWN ISSUE
Hey everyone! So sorry you are having issues. I really hate having to login over and over!
Here's what we know. There was a security update last week that they think caused the issue. They think they have resolved it. If you still have issues, please report here so we can let them know there is still a problem. Feel free to @mention me to get my attention.

Hi everyone- Thank you so much for your patience as we are still working to find a resolution to this situation. We know how frustrating this is and apologize for the inconvenience that this is causing. We are aware that there are two things going on (Captcha/Log out) and have both FamilySearch and Forum engineers at work trying to solve this. They have applied several fixes which to date have not given the final results we were hoping for; however, they are still working to find the answer. Again, we appreciate your patience as we all try to find solutions.

I haven't had a problem here in the Community, on Firefox, on my PC, but I have needed to log in frequently, on my Fire Tablet, using the Silk browser.

I've been needing to sign in frequently in Community for the past two days, give or take. I also got that "I am not a robot" thing on the main site yesterday. Something has been changed, and not for the better, but possibly not by FamilySearch.
(Firefox, Windows 10.)

Same here. Need to sign in almost every time I return. Used to be only every few weeks. This is on my Mac laptop in Safari and Firefox and on my iPod (yes, iPod) in Safari.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the ongoing Twitter kerfluffle.

I just started getting this today, and now the old page isn't working. Nothing is loading. I don't like the new page and is much harder to see (physically see because of the colors and coding listed making it too busy). I was thinking I had a virus, as it stated, so I did a clean on my computer. Nothing has worked. I've used this site almost daily for years. I'm disappointed in them.

I have 3 browsers on my computer. My default browser is Microsoft Chromium Edge, when I log into FamilySearch I am constantly plagued with Incapsula's Additional Security Checks. I am sick and tied of checking Bicycles, Taxis, Traffic lights, Chimneys so I can continue with the programme. My other Browsers do not give me this problem so I have to ask why has Microsoft Chromium Edge suddenly started to do this, as it has not done this in the past ?
This computer has never been infected with malware or a virus. I have just run an update on Microsoft Chromium Edge Browser to see if that helped. It did not. I constantly conduct regular scans on my computer using Kaspersky AV, SUPERAntispyware Pro, IOBit Malware Fighter, so I take umbrage at the comment that my computer may have been infected by malware as has therefore been flagged by Incapsula. Rubbish !
Both Firefox and Google Chrome do not have this problem so my computer is still capable of running FamilySearch without the garbage from Incapsular. From this I must assume that my computer remains free from malware and virus problems, as inferred by Incapsular, hence Microsoft Chromium Edge, FamilySearch and Incapsular have problem.
Could you please advise me what can be done to get me back being able to use Microsoft Chromium Edge with FamilySearch.

I am also having the same problem using Firefox. I just tried using Safari and could not login without verifying "I am not a robot". Very annoying. I have sent an email to nasupport@familysearch.org.

I use Firefox on Windows 10, both fully updated, to access FamilySearch for hours every day, and I do not have a problem with the Incapsula Captcha.
I occasionally use Chrome or Edge - also not an issue on those browsers.

Pesky notice yesterday, left me exasperated all morning. Disappeared last night. Only FamilySearch.org showing it. All other sites, none.

Moderator note- Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The engineers have made some modifications that should resolve the issue. Please let us know if you continue to experience this problem. We appreciate your patience and input.

Thanks for all your thoughts and answers on this, but the problem still remains. I've used Edge Chrome since its inception, and I cannot understand why it suddenly has this interference with Incapsula.

Updates were made to the Incapsula security. Are you still having issues?

In the past week I started getting the following pop up screen on a very frequent basis and find it quite annoying. What has caused this to happen and how do I stop it? I am an IT specialist and know for a fact that my computer is not infected. Thank you for any advice that you can provide me to eliminate this problem.

www.familysearch.org - Additional security check is required
Why am I seeing this page?
The website you are visiting is protected and accelerated by Incapsula. Your computer may have been infected by malware and therefore flagged by the Incapsula network. Incapsula displays this page for you to verify that an actual human is the source of the traffic to this site, and not malicious software.

Yes, I am still having the problem. I'm sure some there is some issue that has just become apparent with Incapsula security after some type of update. I certainly never had this before.

I would recommend taking care when posting here at present. I know there is a "Save Draft" feature, but was glad I had saved a piece I had written just now as - when it would not save - I refreshed the page and the text had completely disappeared. I'd only logged on a short time previously (say 30 minutes, at most), but had already been logged out. Very surprised there have not been more reports of this type of problem.

I am still being logged out very frequently.

I don't believe I am having problems with the FamilySearch Community BUT I am definitely having problems with the FamilySearch Tree. I keep getting an "Additional Security Check' msg. After about 3 of these I get a new page that says that I need to add a Contact Name. If I wait about 5 minutes then I am able to go back to the page I was working on but all work is lost. Very frustrating. This is a new problen since last week. I am a Mac with Safari, but again no problem like this before. I cleared cache/cookies, rebooted. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have been very glad that I remembered to save posts to the clipboard before clicking the button. I'm not sure where the timer counts from, but I've been logged out during two-minute posts. (As in, I clicked the button two minutes after opening the thread, and now suddenly I was logged out.)
And I have not noticed any improvement since last week.

@Mark McLemore and @Sam Sulser
Any chance of getting the ongoing problems with Community investigated - including this one and the problem in posting images (especially when attempting to place two images in one post)?
Thanks.

t's back. First time I saw this was Monday late morning 21 Nov, 2022
Didn't appreciate it because there's no virus or malware whatever on my computer at all. No such type of warnings from any other sites at all. It stopped Monday night and didn't show up at all until about half hour ago (6:30 pm Mountain Time Wed Nov 23, 2022).

This illustrates the ongoing problem with being signed in and signed out at the same time. I was about to give a "Like" to one of the posts on this page, but got the message at the bottom left of the screenshot. As can be seen (top right) I was signed in at the time (I switched to Family Tree and found I was signed in there, too), so please try to get this fixed. "Little things" don't usually annoy me, but the confusion about whether I'm signed in or out of Community is starting to get to me!

Late yesterday, I encountered a similar situation to the one @Paul W describes. For the last week or more, I've been signed out every few minutes only using my tablet. Yesterday, I was signed in on my Win 10 PC, Firefox, wrote a short reply to a query and received the message that I was not authorized to do that. Although I stil showed as signed in, a refresh of the page showed I had been logged out.
IOW - the situation seems to be deteriorating rather than improving.

This is SOOO ANNOYING ... the 'IT engineers' need to rethink the implementation of this Web App Firewall (WAF) and dial back the high level of security that you are attempting to accomplish (to what end I am not sure). Since I volunteer my time to assist family and friends with their ancestries I may just cease to use this site. PLEASE resolve this.

Thanks for the info. I am glad they are working on it. I checked today and am still having the same problems as I posted before. Thanks for your assitance and Happy Thanksgiving!

It appears that The Powers That Be have combined two threads into one, even though they're talking about two different things.
One is the Incapsula message that @wcbc quoted in a post on Nov. 22, which affects logging in to the main FS site (www.familysearch.org). The security service (Incapsula) implies that you're getting the message because your device has been infected with malware. This is almost always completely false; most of the time, you're getting that message because someone somewhere marked your "internet neighbor" as a spam/malware generator, so now your IP address is on a blacklist somewhere. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to fix it, beyond asking FS to please revise their settings to a less-sensitive level, because the security service's routine is "catching" way too many innocents.
The other topic is a problem affecting one's login status in the Community (community.familysearch.org). Previously, logging in to Community left one logged in for several weeks. Now, it times out, sometimes it seems after five minutes, tops -- and the worst part is, you can't tell that it has done so until after it refuses to post your message or similarly denies you access.
