Suddenly, in the "previous version" when you add a father, it defaults to the lower position on the right, not the top, but with the correct male icon. However, a male icon is then also displayed above that entry. When you add the mother from that icon, it adds a female icon, but the entry is ABOVE the father. But if you don't know the name of the mother, it visually defaults to two male icons as parents, one being the entered father below, and the unknown person now a male icon above. I tried several browsers and it shows the same behavior. If you go directly to the record of the father, the name & male icon display correctly on the top, with the female icon on the bottom, without a name. This is true in the "previous version". In the "new version", the display shows the father in the bottom position with a male icon and "add spouse" above, with no icon. It all displays correctly in the iOS FamilyTree program.

Switch parent or spouse positions in Family Tree • FamilySearch

You can switch the order in which spouses or parents display in Family Tree.

"In male-female relationships, you can only adjust this arrangement if the male name appears below the female name. You can only switch one way."

It appears to be fixed! Crisis over!

I'll repost it if it reappears. I'll upload the before & after examples for reference.
