Twins in NY Birth Index but only one was indexed
I have been researching the Dempsey family. I have a newspaper article that talks about the death of one of their twins. When I go to the NY Birth Index to attach the births to each of the twins, there are two lines in the image but only one of them has been indexed. Is it possible to attach this record to both twins? (If so, I'm not sure how.) It is currently attached to Dempsey (1891-1891) GNH6-PR5 but I need to attach to Francis Dempsey Taylor (1891-1944) MCZ5-ZYR as well.
The births are shown for surname Dempsey, born 25 April 1891 in Paris, Oneida, New York, certificate numbers 16511 & 16512.

Thank you.

If you add the Source to your Source Box - you can attach it to both profiles or just the remaining one.

There are several ways to do it.
Option 1: go to the Sources tab where the indexed source is attached, click the title line to expand it (if needed), and click View. On the page that opens, click Copy To Source Box. Then attach the copy to the other twin's profile (two methods outlined below).
Option 2: open the image and use the Source Box button to create a citation directly to the image, bypassing the index, and attach that to the other twin's profile (or to both of them).
Option 3: go to the Sources tab of the other twin and use the Add Source - Add New Source button to create a citation using the URL of either the image or the index detail page.
If you use one of the first two options, you'll then need to attach the citation from your Source Box to the profile. You can do this starting either from the profile or from your Source Box.
To attach the citation starting from the profile, go to its Sources tab and click Add Source - Attach From Source Box. Click Attach to the right of the desired citation, optionally add a reason, and click Attach.
To attach the citation starting from your Source Box, click your name-and-initial at the top right of a main FS site page (i.e., not the gray torso-thingy here in Community) and choose Source Box. Click Attach to the right of the citation, then find the profile to attach it to using either the profile's ID or the name.

Those printed indexes were, I believe, indexed by OCR. It is fairly common for OCR to miss an entry/line.
