I need to remove a second Margaret McKergo in the lower box from this tree otherwise it will confuse members

Margaret Mckergo K4ZY-BXP is duplicated

Tree https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/K4ZY-BXP

I missed a generation when adding parents and somehow Margaret ended up remaining after I removed a duplicate James Tom. I still don't quite know how I did that. I hope that the full tree will then work! https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/9MCM-6K9 and

https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/9Q4V-8DQ

Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    @Derek Thom you did fine. It's just that where there is one duplicate usually there are more. I merged her husband's duplicates and removed some duplicate links to the children. All is well now.

    Er, all is well is relative. There may be additional duplicates and/or other families with similar names. Focus on the historical records and you'll get it all sorted out.

    Her son John Thom has a duplicate link to her alone. Delete the link.

    On the details page in the right sidebar is a merge button. Copy-paste the PID of the less complete profile, go to the details page of the more complete profile, and paste the PID into the merge tool.

    I appear to have bred even more of the same couple. I think someone else needs to prune the extra s now. Apologies!!!!!

    @Derek Thom

    The page on which I am now seeing the problem is for John Thom (1801-) at https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/9Q4V-8DQ. From his sources, he appears to be the son of a John Thom and Margaret Paterson, so you need to remove him from the relationship with John Thom KH47-KLZ and Margaret Mckergo.

    To fully tidy-up the details of the page, you also need to merge John Thom M1CC-QSS with John Tom 9MCM-6K9 and Margaret Paterson M1CC-QSH with Margaret Paterson GNK1-9F8.

    The apparently separate families (of Ayrshire and Lanarkshire) should then be unlinked. Do not forget to remove any sources currently attached to IDs to whom they do not apply.

    I'm trying to do this. I need to retain any Ayrshire Lanarkshire links as these are required.

    How do I get rid of the dulicate Margaret Paterson displaed with Add a spouse below the one I want?
