How do you ask FamilySearch to correct a place name?

Right now, the choices for standardized place names for the city of Orillia in Ontario Canada all list it as Orillia, Simcoe, Norfolk, Ontario, Canada.

This is confusing the town of Simcoe with the county of Simcoe.

Norfolk County is in southern Ontario near Lake Erie. It's largest town/city is the town of Simcoe.

Orillia is in central Ontario, an hour+ of Toronto and is located in Simcoe County.

The correct place name for the current city of Orillia is Orillia, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada.

Thank you

I have the same problem with Udney United Church in Ramara Township, Simcoe County, Ontario ... it is also showing as being in Simcoe, Norfolk County rather than Simcoe County.

That sounds very like a placename standardization issue. Can you supply the URL, please?

Search on placename standardization in this forum, and you will see that there are many threads on the topic.

The Places database has the map pin in the correct location, but it has the wrong parent place: instead of the county, they've put in the village.

You can suggest a correction using the "Improve This Place" button to the right of the placename.
