What is the difference between web totals and indexing totals?
I have over 3500 indexing totals and yet only 80 web totals. What is the difference between the two?

I don't know what you mean by web totals. That's not on my indexing page. I have my indexing totals, review totals, and then those are totaled together.

@Blodgett, Benjamin Brent , could you post a screen shot so we can see what you are talking about? Also helpful, are you talking about the website, or android or the iOS app?

@barbaragailsmith1 the photo is of "My Indexing Totals" of 3,586 Indexed, 0 Reviewed and 3586 Total and then underneath that is Web Totals, 86 indexed, 0 Reviewed, 86 Total. Maybe the 3500 was from the old desktop program?

Not sure what the Web totals are. I thought it might be separate totals from the 1950 US Census project. Do you remember doing any of them? I think those totals may have been separate and not rolled into the normal Indexing totals. But that theory does not seem to work in my case since I worked on the 1950USCensus project but don't show any "Web" totals. ???

I worked some 1950 Census records, but I think they weren't counted in the totals. At any rate, I also don't have the Web Totals.

As far as I know, the 1950 US Census contributions are not included in the statistics on the Web Indexing home page. The totals you see under My Indexing Totals should consist of your contributions under the old Desktop Indexing program (if any) plus your Web Indexing program contributions. To break them out so you can see them separately read the comment below that I pasted from another question/comment and follow the directions.
In the Progress Chart (not the "Projects" option), you can see your Web Indexing Program (ONLY) Indexing or Reviewing contributions /numbers (separately}, by showing the Chart for Indexing and then Reviewing) - since the inception of Web Indexing (about 2017 or 2018) by making the following selection in the dropdown.
NOTE: The My Indexing Totals in the upper right of the Web Indexing home page SHOULD* show your contributions in Indexing or Reviewing for the Desktop Indexing program plus the Web Indexing program. So, you can back out/isolate your old Desktop Indexing numbers using subtraction if you determine your Web Indexing contributions using the above method.
*Caveat: The system was not always accurate in transferring those Desktop Indexing numbers - @Melissa S Himes lost credit for well over 100,000 records during the transition.

My web numbers have always been added into my indexing program numbers from before. I don't know why you get a separate thing for web numbers.

I never knew there were Web number before, but I am sure they were never added into any other number.

Web Indexing has existed since about 2018, and folks who started indexing in 2018 or later only have Web Indexing numbers to worry about, and the numbers posted at the top of the page and those from the chart at the bottom will be identical. Only if you indexed during the era of the Desktop Indexing program (pre-2018 approximately) will there be any indexing contributions to add to the Web Indexing contributions. Only for those former Desktop indexers will the "My Indexing Totals" (at the top) potentially be larger than the numbers found by looking at the Progress Chart and requesting a tally for "All Time." Those Progress Chart numbers at the bottom only represent Web Indexing contributions. Most of the time you don't care and just look at the totals at the top.
