How can I find my oldest known relative?

Hello,

I would like to see who my oldest know relative is, and I was wondering if there is any way to do so. I was traced it manually to the 900s, but it would be great if there was an automatic tool that could do this for me

Thanks,

Alex

Someone may have a better way to do it but a possible solution is to download your tree from FamilySearch into a family tree software program. Various options are available - see the Solutions Gallery. For example Rootsmagic has a free version that will allow you to download all your ancestors. You will then be able to sort the file by date in that program.

For this I use the FamilySearch partner website Puzzilla.org, the no-cost subscription. Log in with your FamilySearch account and password. For this job Puzzilla is much faster than RootsMagic.
