The screen shot below has the Latin word "Paganum." I've figure out the other words, but this one has me stumped. The words, (Nomen Xtianum), means the Christian name. Does "Paganum" mean the surname?

I've never come across this Latin term before in Catholic records. It literally translates to "Pagan Name", and seems to mean surname (in contrast to "Christian Name" for first/given names)

In other batches of the same project, names listed under the Pagan Name are typically other Christian names. I'm just going to put them both in the given name field.

"When is doubt put both names in the given name field" is the perfect choice under the circumstances!

Under Project Instructions, What to Index; is an entry called "How to Index a Handwritten Baptism Register-Form 2". This instruction shows that both names are given names and are to be separated with the word "Or": E.G. Child's Given Names: Maria Or Jasmine
