    Identifying a Relationship

How do I identify a relationship of a couple who were not married but had a child and then the relationship ends. I don't understand how the relationship of the parents of said child/children are to be referred as. If they aren't married, they can't be, divorced. What were they when they were together. You don't want someone listed as a spouse if they were not married. Someone might be digging around looking for records of marriage or divorce and never find anything.

@Grace K. Ramsburg Goff, what I would do in a case like you described is to join the two in a couple relationship as biological parents to the child. Then in the couple box click the pencil icon, then under Relationship Events click "+Add Event" then click the drop down arrow and choose "LIved Together" then Save.

Just attach both persons to the child. Then, on the couple relationship in the Note field add a note that they did not marry. Is there evidence? Say what it is.
