Yeah, I've noticed this, too, and I don't like it. It adds extra clicks to my workflow (Recents - my name - the tree icon at the right).
Do FS's programmers get royalties from the pointing-device companies for every click they cause?

Clicking the "Home" button (little house) in the upper right corner where the other options exist will open with you as the focus person.

This is probably a situation where they will never be able to make everyone happy. Personally, whenever I return to Family Tree, I always want to resume were I left off. I can't think of the last time I went to my own page on purpose.
I wonder what the statistics are of users who want Person to go to themselves and those who want Person to go to the last person they were on? 25/75? 50/50? 75/25?

Under account in settings, it says family tree preferences, This person appears in the root position when I open the family tree. This tells me that this is the person I have put there, which is me, should come up when I open familytree. I am miss understand this?

The account page statement has not been updated to reflect the behavior of the new pages.
This is the type of thing that could probably be changed back fairly easily if enough people urged the engineers to do so (without yelling at them). I'm so used to always just going to Recents first thing if I need to get back to where I was that I really don't care one way of the other. Generally I still have a browser window open from the last time so I just refresh the page and sign in.
So here we have two votes against the new behavior, zero for, and one don't care. What we don't know is how many people have requested this change over the past years. 2? 20,000?
It might be good for someone to post this as a concern in the New Person Page group so that the very few, current count is 99, users there can offer opinions.

Thank you for answering my questions. I did not know there was a new person page group. I teach how to navigate family tree at my family history center. I like to have answers when people ask questions. Normally I see written information on the updates. Missed this one. Personally, I can get used to it, but I work with a lot of elder people, with all the changes, they do not want to use family tree anymore.
Thank
Julee
