How can I post a question under Discussions in a group when there is no option on the group page?

I would like to put in a request for a transcription of a baptismal record in the German Group. I joined the German group a few days ago but I cannot find a place to put a question or a discussion. Can someone please guide me on how to do that?

Thank you very much.

I'm not a member of the German group, but all the groups should have the button to post a new question in the same place:

However, if you have not actually been granted access to the group yet, the Join button will still say Join and the New Discussion button with not be there. You have to belong to the group before you can post questions:

When you click the "New Discussion" button, a dropdown will appear for "Ask a Question."

Thank you very much, Gordon and Áine. I had to go to the group from the main page and not from "My Groups" to be able to see the Discussions button. I did post my question.

Again, thank you for your help. It is much appreciated. I am new to the Community.
