Could the tabs section at the top of the page have greater contrast, please?

I find it difficult to determine which tab I am in and that is important to know when closing extra tabs out. I have to really concentrate on the area to see which one is the open one. If there was greater contrast up there, this would be more obvious. As it is now they are two very close shades of grey. The older I get the more this type of thing is a problem for me. Perhaps you people setting this up still have sharp, young eyes, but unfortunately we do not all have them any more. Perhaps alternately, the tabs could just have a bold line around them.

Or perhaps the tab that is open could be highlighted a bright color?

The color and style of your browser's tabs are 100% determined by your browser, not by the websites you visit.

To add to Julia's comment, depending on the browser you use, there are extensions you can add to that browser to help with visibility.

You can see in this screen snip that this tab is the active one and is a different color from the other 20+ I have open:

contrast is also usually a setting on your display / monitor.

Many people have their brightness on their display so HIGH that contrast is lost.

check your display settings on your hardware.
