Allow basic formatting in Stories

Yes, you can upload a document in either PDF or JPG format but for stories (or say a transcription of one of the documents you've uploaded), there is no ability to do even basic formatting such as italics, bold, superscript or subscript. Unless I've just missed something? I highly doubt these are difficult bits of code to add to the text entry box. Even this text entry box has minor formatting options by clicking on the paragraph symbol at the side of the box.

Because let's face it something like: "I bequeath xxij s and iij d" would display different than

<p>"I bequeath xxijs and iij d text.</p>

So if this text entry box can handle HTML code, why would a story not be able to? Though to be fair, even using the code box doesn't display the text properly formatted. Basically, allowing the ability to do basic formatting such as bold, italics, superscript and subscript would mean someone could type a story directly vs having to type it, convert it to PDF and upload it as a document.

FS has an abysmal track record with parsing text as anything other than plain text. I remember when a tweak of something on source citations resulted in all of my transcriptions turning into a block of text with no whitespace or line breaks. There have been other, similar problems over the years.

If I want to apply text markup to genealogy, there's always WikiTree. Yes, it's their particular flavor of MediaWiki rather than HTML, but at some level, coding is coding.
