Sliding Dates and Places When Attaching Census Records to a Profile

Within the past few days, the way United States Census sources are attached to profiles has changed. In the past, the Review Attachments function would let the user insert the year and place names, and the profile would show a Residence entry in Other Information when the source record was attached. This seems to have stopped. Now I have to attach the census record to the profile and then manually enter the Residence entry. Does anyone know why this handy feature was stopped? Bug? Good reason?

This is apparently a recent bug.

This is a major problem and the reason I logged into this forum as well.

It does work correctly in the mobile app, but not on desktop.

It also doesn't work for Find a Grave dates or WW I and WW II Draft Registration birth dates to compare. They're not showing up and locations are not showing to move into the family tree record.

How do we notify someone who can let the engineers know this is a recent error in the software?

It also fails in UK census records.

I think the FamilySearch people have done this purposefully. They are up to some kind of project, but I am not aware of any explanatory communication from them. Hopefully, we will find out soon.

It's working...looks like we're back in business. Whoever let the engineers know...a big thank you.

Still not working for me, annoying and a huge waste of time having to enter residence information manually now. Please bring back the option to add the residence information when attaching a source.

Yes, I am still having some problems with this feature, too. When trying to attach a record from the United States Census, 1940, I sometimes, but not always, cannot slide the 1940 information. I can slide the 1935 information, but not the 1940 information. It is very curious.

Since this feature worked correctly at one time, I think I am of the opinion that something deliberate is going on behind the scenes that we common users are not aware of. Maybe someone at FamilySearch will see our posts and enlighten us.
