I also have this problem and suggest it be fixed quickly!
I was about to file an issue until I found it was already mentioned here. Instead will add my description below in case it helps.
Previously when attaching a US Census the data on the left showed the census location which could be added to the record on the right as a residence. This is no longer visible. Now a residence must be added manually after attaching the source which causes more work and increases the possibility of an error. Also, the Birth date/year no longer appears on the left. This defect seems to have appeared after the "Attach" link was added to the name row in the Image Index of a US Census. There is a similar problem with the source Iowa, County Births, 1880-1935, the birth date no longer appears on the left which previously could be added to the record on the right. Not showing these fields on the left also prevents them from being compared to the record on the right and increase the possibility of errors.

Yes, please fix this. It's a major problem! It does work in the mobile app, but not on Desktop.

I hope it’s a broken issue and not removed from Family Search. That information is so valuable and needed when attaching sources. Thank you for posting this.

This appears to be fixed as of July 12, 2022. Attaching a United States Census, 1930, shows census year and place which can create a residence, also shows birth year and place. Same for Iowa State Census, 1905.
