Is this a middle name or something else?

In my Boston Tax record I came across someone with the name of William Filene. After the name 'William' there were two other words (or maybe they are abbreviations) . I can't tell if they are his middle name or if they are abbreviations for something else.

That was a quite a find in 1911 tax records! William Filene Sons Co. would open their big store in 1912 at the corner of Washington & Summer Streets in Boston.

You notice the tax record says "for machinery." Probably something in the construction of the store - maybe the elevators or ventilation systems.
