I've been trying to access some catalogues from Russas, Ceara, Brazil but it appears blocked. A message that I could access from a Family History Center pop out, but I am already accessing from a FHC, so I don't know what to do then.

Are you using one of the computers belonging to the FHC, or are you on your own device? Last year, a change was made to the system, and those locked records can only be viewed using one of the Center computers.

Each computer has to be configured individually to access the restricted records. The center director or tech support will need to check the other 2 computers.

There were some recent problems reported with access in Australia, and a moderator commented that "there has been a recent "Global" outage of the functioning of the Portal Extension and also a fault with the FamilySearch connection to ancestryinstitution. There are reports that the Portal is working again in the Chrome Browser, in the UK but the latter fault seems to be continuing. This is not a local issue, it is on the server side of our systems".

https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/456008/#Comment_456008 Perhaps this Outage is the cause of the problem you have experienced in Brazil.

On 14 June 2022 it was said "FamilySearch is aware of the issue and their software engineers are working on a software update that they hope will be ready in a few weeks". Perhaps things will resolve, but if they do not, the Center staff will need to contact their local (Brazil) IT Help.

Is this now fixed because we still cannot access the portal websites at our centre in Surrey British Columbia Canada?

I am in the FamilySearch Family History Center 3291 S 3450 W, West Valley City, UT 84119 a converted seminary building, on a family center location, trying to view the films for Siedlce, Galicia.

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=60240&query=%2Bplace%3A%22Austria%2C%20Galizien%2C%20Siedlce%22&subjectsOpen=616239-50

The locked links don't work at this location, but my sister in Rockwall, Texas was able to access at her FamilySearch History Center in a stake center last week.

An update to the extension for Portal access was released Friday and seems to work with Chrome, more so than before. However, it will require some additional effort on the guest’s part at the FHC.

When they open Chrome, the extension will probably be gray. Please ask them to click on the Extension which will open a dropdown window. Wait until the extension turns green and then click on View Websites and go to their desired Premium Website. Remind them that for now, they may need to click on the Extension and wait for it to go green every time they open Chrome.
