DOB year on New Jersey Geographic Birth Indexes to be within date range?

I understand the first number being the birth year (as stated from a recent previous question). However, the year range is 1925-29 on this one, but the first date is 6 Jan1. So, would the year be 1906 or 1926... to be within the year range at the top?

Thanks.

It is always best to share your batch so these can be further investigated by looking at the film. But, I investigated the same question last night on another platform.

The date range on the top of the image was 1902-1906. The person was born 2 Jul 19. I used the Image Name from About Batch, found the image on the film and found out that the person was born in 1902.

    The field help says:

If only a 2-digit number was recorded, you can sometimes determine the first 2 digits of the 4-digit year from other information, such as the project dates or other contextual information on the image.

The contextual information on these images is the year range.

Since the range is 1925-1929, the year can only be one of those 5 years.

5 will indicate 1925, 6 will mean 1926, 7 will be 1927, and so on.
