I often see "GEDCOM DATA" listed as source for "Vitals".

This comment usually appears in the area, "Reason This Information Is Correct".

The phrase ""GEDCOM data" is not meaningful to most users, but to the submitter only.

I don't know if (private) users' genealogy programs upload this phrase, or how to overcome use of this phrase.

It usually appears in the following EXACT form: GEDCOM data

Yes, I believe this does mean it was carried across in an import, rather than a user having entered it manually.

In one way it's a good feature, as it acts a a warning sign that there might be an unreliable source for the detail, which needs to be carefully checked to confirm its accuracy.
