POSSIBLE BUG REPORT: Family Tree First Ancestor view: Person of Focus

FamilySearch Account Settings> Family Tree Preferences> EDIT> Family Tree Starting Person

is not linked to:

Family Tree> First Ancestor> Person of Focus option.

Currently you can only view yourself as 'person of focus'.

I assume this is 'as designed'.

I can see how it might be advantageous to the researcher to be able to change the starting/focus person in Account settings - and be able to see that path to a different 'person of focus'

If you go to another individuals record then select the the tree view and choose First Ancestor for that individual you can link the chain from that first ancestor to the individual. It is definitely a little confusing and only works for the all male line. Thus for you it would be your father and his father and so on. If you attempt to link any other person as a first ancestor the result will be no connection. I hope that helps a little.
