The globe doesn't always like its new spot

The globe icon for changing the interface language of FamilySearch has recently been added to the header of FamilySearch pages. (It's still there in its previous location as well, in the footer, at least on all of the pages I checked.) Most of the time, it's just the newest bit of mystery meat over in the right-hand clump, as the first of now five icons (globe, question mark, speech bubble, bell, and account initial or picture), with one of two different graphics for the globe.

There are two sets of pages, however, where it doesn't quite line up. On pages relating to the Catalog, such as Search - Catalog, or when browsing images (either via waypoints or directly via the catalog), it gets all friendly and sidles right up to the question mark, but about half a line down.

The clickable spot for the icon, which is highlighted in green if you mouse over the area, is where the icon should be.

On Search - Books and pages reached from there, on the other hand, the globe shows a decided antipathy to the question mark and all his friends, and hangs out close to the middle of the top bar.

The clickable area is a large oval between the globe and the question mark.

The other thing that I noticed is that on pages that don't have a footer, and thus did not previously offer a change of interface language, the new globe doesn't work. Clicking on it doesn't do anything. Examples of such pages include waypointed browsing (pictured above, with a misaligned globe) and Family Tree - Tree (not pictured, but has the globe all nicely lined up).

    @Julia Szent-Györgyi

    We appreciate your post here in the Community, and especially the way you described the placement of the language globe. You are a talented writer and your humor made us smile. 😊

    We waited a few days hoping this was a temporary anomaly, but evidently it is not. We have reported this to our supervisor so the issue can be addressed.

    Thank you!

    I too see the globe out of place on the header bar.

    @dontiknowyou

    It's been an intermittent thing, so it's quite plausible you have missed seeing this.
