My Mom, Margaret Jack More was adopted. Her blood aunt, Margaret Dempster Jack, born March 22, 1883, daughter of Robert Jack. She lived in Edinburgh, Scotland. My records claims she left for Canada between 1900 and 1913 because her family disowned her for marrying a Catholic by the name of James Ryan, so we've been told. No one has ever heard of her again. Is there any records that might tell me what happened to Margaret Dempster would help. I'm very grateful for any information you might have on her.
My Mom was adopted 8 days after her birth by a John More. His Wife name was Margaret Paton More (nee-Thompson)
I have pictures of Margaret Paton More and she looks like Margaret Dempster Jack (More) and I feel that Margaret Dempster and Margaret Paton are the same person. We think perhaps Margaret Dempster could have changed her name to Margaret Paton. It would be greatly appreciated if you have any information on this mystery. Gratefully yours, Linda Bondy

This article lists new record collections that have been added recently. New collections are added weekly. For record availability for the areas you are inquiring about check out these resources: You can search Record Collections to find all transcribed/indexed records. If you don't find what you're looking for there, I recommend exploring the Historical Record Images that have not been transcribed/indexed yet.
