What does this mean, " Include my profile information in directory search results?"

Just adding to what @Brett . has so well informed us in his post.
I think the Directory Service is used in FamilySearch messaging systems such as RootsTech Chat and the Ask Me Anything help experience which were available for use during RootsTech (and for a period of time afterwards).

The Directory Service doesn't seem to be available in the FamilySearch Messages available through the envelope top right of your screen.

That, is in the "Settings", of Our 'FamilySearch' Account, under the "Permissions" 'Tab' ...
And, relates, to the "Profile" 'Tab', in the "Settings", of Our 'FamilySearch' Account ...
Plus, what one ALLOWS "Other' Users/Patrons, to 'See' of you ...
