I use ancestral quest to interface with Family Search. For several years I have been accessing the PA death certificates available free in ancestry.com for my ancestors and putting them in Family Search as documents or pictures as pictures. Recently, Family Search will no longer accept my documents or photos. In speaking with Ancestral quest, apparently you have changed the rules on how a document or picture can be labeled. I enter "picture from findagrave.com - Margaret Ellen Swain," or "death certificate - Margaret Ellen Swain." My naming system in my data base allows spaces and special characters and apparently Family Search no longer does.
I would like to resolve this. I have never put my data base into Family Search and I am doing it one person at a time over the past 5 years. I would like to download pictures & documents from my research over the last 30 years. I do not want to rename my pictures & documents data base. So my alternative is to not download these to family search.
Is there a plan to allow naming of documents/pictures to be a little more accepting soon?
Thanks,
Bonnie Hard
