I do reviews and found "no extractable data", but when I read it, I found it very interesting and thought it should be passed on. In a record out of Madras, India in 1918, an man and wife decided to change their name from GROSHOLOZ to Godfrey. If there are any people following the name Godfrey, but found it vanished in 1918, then here is their answer. The document was signed in Coonoor, near Madras was published in the Fort St George Gazette on 11 June 1918 to become official on 1 July 1918. I think the document was part of his will.

    @Bonnie Cooper_2

    Thank you very much for advising and including the reference for the particular issue of the Fort St. George Gazette which I have found online

    Fort St. George Gazette 11 June 1918, page 948 (digital page 101) Archive.org.

    I am able to edit the Wiki for the FIBIS (Families in British India Society) website, so I have added this as a source on the page Birth, marriage and death records

    https://wiki.fibis.org/w/Birth%2C_marriage_and_death_records#Change_of_name_by_deed_poll

    I will also write to the FIBIS transcriptions team to see if the details can be added to the FIBIS database, but as this is a single record I do not know if this is possible.
