1955 Census Record indexed incorrectly
As I was doing some research about sources, I looked at my person page and I had the 1955 census that said I was a male. And the 1960 census that says I'm a female. Whoever indexed the 1955 one made the mistake. I looked at the record and it is correct and shows me as a female with a very dim F mark. However, where it shows the next box as a member or non-member, there is a very dark M. I'm sure someone looked at that wrong and saw the dark M and wrote Male. I would like that corrected, but it won't let me edit it myself. I was told to contact SLC for help. I would appreciate any help you can give me to correct it. Thank you!! Carolyn Brown

Have you been able to resolve this problem yet??

As many members of "Community" are (like me) not LDS Church members, this question (placed here) is likely to cause some confusion. I live in England, where the 1921 census details have just been released, but am naturally aware that with the US the 1950 records are in the process of being released. So the mention of 1955 and 1960 census records is quite confusing to me - are you referring to Church census records? If so, it might have been better to raise your question under the "Temple" category. Maybe not quite appropriate to the subject matter, but likely to be viewed by far more members of the Church, which should help in your getting a response that has not been forthcoming till now.

It's 'Brett'.
Just in passing ...
Short Answer: 'Yes'.
ie. Worldwide, Census', of the Church, in regards to Membership, in the Church.
I have found some of my Ancestors (and, Relatives/Extended Family) in there Census'.
[ Originally, I had NO idea, that I had Members of the Church, in my Ancestry, let alone, so closely related ]
My Wife has found the same, including her, "Deceased" Parents; and, Adopted Brother; and, "Living" Sibling.
[ Whereas, my Wife a SECOND Generation, member of the Church - ie. Born, to a Member Family ... to be expected ]
These, Worldwide, Census', of the Church, are very helpful, when one is a Member of the Church.
But ...
That Said ...
I have also helped, Users/Patrons, who are NOT members of the Church, find "Sources", for Worldwide, Census', of the Church, that that relate to their Ancestors (and, Relatives/Extended Family).
[ And, quite a shock, of them ... ]
And ...
Eventually, I may be lucky enough, to 'see' Myself, in these Worldwide, Census', of the Church, in regards to Membership, in the Church.
Maybe not ... only time will tell ...
So ...
That Said ...
Contrary, to what you suggest ...
There is NO need to either, "Raise"; and/or, "Move", matters such as this, to the 'Category' of "Temple".
This matter, has NOTHING to do, with "Temple" Work.
Confusion reigns, whether matters pertain to the Church or not.
'Carolyn', is raising both, a VAILD; and, ACCEPTABLE, question/request.
Whether, that "Request" can be ACTIONED, by 'FamilySearch' ... is another matter ...
Hopefully, it can ...
Just my thoughts.
Brett

Thanks for the clarification, Brett.
I only made the "Temple" suggestion in a hope that Carolyn might get a response more easily from there than she has received in posting here. Hopefully, a moderator will be able to pass this issue to a FamilySearch "department" that is qualified to deal with such matters.

I understand ...
And ...
I SHOULD have added, that originally indicating, in the initial post, that the mattered related to the:
Worldwide, Census', of the Church, in regards to Membership, in the Church
Would have been, much better; and, certainly, less confusing.
But ...
That Said ...
As we know ...
Many Users/Patrons, DO NOT have, the "Experience", of you or I (or, other regular Participants) ...
Such is life ...
