Need to know if the "Star" (maximum of 4,000 people) can be increased?
My mother's family is very large & I'm currently working on entering 1150 pages of Huntington's from the genealogy book "The Huntington Family In America 1633-1915" and also anything that I find on Ancestry.com. I can no longer click on the "Star", to be notified when someone changes or adds any information, because I have already maxed out. My problem is that I'm only on page #565 and I have 585 more pages to do.
I really need to be notified, after all my work is entered on FamilySearch, so that I can see what other people are changing or adding.

You will need to go to the Community page and scroll to the bottom on the page and click on "Suggest an idea" and make a request to have FamilySearch consider increasing the total.

When this same request came up back in the GetSatisfaction days, the answer was "nope".

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
You are not alone ...
There are MANY, of Users/Patrons, who would LOVE to "Watch"/"Follow" MORE than x4000 ...
Please be, aware; and, advised, that ...
There have been, COUNTLESS requests, over MANY Years, to INCREASE, the number of individuals/persons, that we can "Watch"/"Follow", at any given time.
This has NEVER been granted ...
I would humbly venture to suggest, that part of the reason, for NOT increasing, the number of individuals/persons, that we can "Watch"/"Follow", is because, in doing so, with the ever increasing number of Users/Patron, using the "System", that such would SLOW the "System" down to a CRAWL.
ie. Too much "Load" on the "System" ...
So ...
That Said ...
You can ...
But, honestly ...
I would NOT bother, to waste your time, making a suggested enhancement, to increase, the number of individuals/persons, that we can "Watch"/"Follow", at any given time, beyond the current x4000.
Just my thoughts.
I know, that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective.

ps: IF, you are NOT directly related, to some of the individuals/persons, from that "Book"; THEN, I would humbly suggest, that you "Unfollow" ALL those, that you are NOT directly "Related" to; and, ONLY select "Follow" for those that you ARE directly "Related" to ...

One potentially serious problem with these public community boards is that you run the risk of getting all sorts of advice you don't need and don't want! Please take this in the spirit in which it is intended since I don't know anything about you, your experience with genealogy, or your experience with Family Tree. Absolutely no criticism is intended here. But I just feel obligated to mention a couple of cautions.
I see that the book you are working on was published in 1915 and that it is freely available to everyone on Ancestry. I took the first name on a random page and found it on Family Tree. That particular name has 8 contributors. I was able to see that people have been submitting information on this family, probably out of this book, since 1931.
There is a high chance that several other people over the past 107 years have done exactly what you are doing, gone page by page and submitted every name to FamilySearch. All that that work will be in Family Tree.
Please be very careful and thorough in looking for duplicates and assembling fragments of families as you go through this book. You probably will not need to create a single new individual. Also, keep in mind that the book might be wrong. If other researchers have put in information that contradicts the book, do the research needed to see if those researchers really did find an confirm errors in the book.
