How much time do I have to wait before I can use a newly created PiD?

I used to be able to create a new individual and immediately use the newly created individual when fixing family member relationships. Now, it gives me the error message that the newly created individual's PiD does not exist (I tried this in 3 different browers) when clicking on the pencil on paper icon to the right of the child's name and trying to replace or remove a parent.

The error message says "ID number not found."

Perhaps you wrote down the PID incorrectly? You can look at your "My Contributions - My Changes" to find the person you just added: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/contributions/changes

I'm a little confused as to what you did here. Did you create the ID as "An Unconnected Person"? If you already knew their relationship to an individual already in Family Tree surely it would have been easier to create them as a child, or parent, of that person? That way, the ID would have remained right there with the rest of the family. Maybe I am misunderstanding the problem - a screenshot would help.

I did N O T write the ID incorrectly. The ID is correct and I did N O T need to look at "My Contributions - My Changes" because I know the PiD and where to find him. The problem is in the process. I finally made it work by choosing delete parent then adding parent--a two step process requiring more memory skills, rather than choosing delete and replace parent.

There should be no time lag at all. A newly created person has always been immediately available. However, the past two days I'm finding all sorts of glitches showing up from pages not loading to the Source Linker not functioning properly to other annoyances. Either the internet is having major problems somewhere, a server is failing somewhere, or FamilySearch is in the middle of some major updating. When this has happened in the past, it has always seemed that things were back to normal within a few days.

One thing you can do to see if the person really was created is to copy the ID, go to a different browser, paste the ID into the box at the top of the Recent's menu then click to go to arrow and see if the person comes up. Try that under the Find by ID routine also. I just did that and Recent's took me to the person's page, Find By ID did not. So something a little funny is going on.
