Washington Death Registers [A]

There are lists on the Washington Death Registers without headings and has

county names on the second row. Should I assume that is the death place?

There are no headings on any of pages before or after.

Thank you for the link to your batch. I used the information from About Batch and conducted a search using the Image Search function to see the full filmstrip for these batches. You are correct, the column is the place of death.

This is the Death Index of Deaths from 1907 - 1979 created by the Secretary of the State of Washington.

The first column is the Soundex Code.

The second column is the Decedent's Name (Sex-Age).

The third column is City/County of Death.

The fourth column is the Death Date.

The fifth column is the Certificate number.

I have the same question. Here is an example: https://www.familysearch.org/indexing/batch/352e86a9-5ba1-407b-b318-4d41f63a0e13 from the US, Washington—County Death Registers, 1881–1922 [Part A][M9B7-Y8S]. I am reviewing it, and although I think it lists deaths, I am not sure. The instructions don't show this as an example.

Hi @katrinawalker1 Thanks for sharing your link and the batch code too! That is the same type of image as Monica had. The information I provided above is the same for each column, Name | (Sex-Age) | City/County of Death | Death Date | Certificate Number.

So, you will have to decide whether to send it back for reindexing or correct it. The Given Name field has the Sex/Age Information (or at least the sex and a question mark) on every single record. If you decide to fix it, it will go for a second review since you will have to correct at least 23% of each entry. But, the next reviewer will be able to move quickly through a correct batch!
