Duplicates to existing tree

will it create duplicates of my existing tree??
It may do that. To prevent that very unfortunate outcome:
- Polish profiles on Family Tree and in your tree elsewhere, taking care to add event dates and places.
- Import into Family Tree many small GEDCOMs, not one big one.
- Consider doing all your tree building on Family Tree and exporting GEDCOMs from Family Tree to wherever else you have a tree. That is, reverse the direction. In particular, it is much easier and safer to move a tree from Family Tree to Ancestry.com, than the reverse.

Hello @StevenKadera and @dontiknowyou
Regarding GEDCOM files:
The Family Tree feature does not support exporting or downloading information directly from FamilySearch.
You can indirectly download data from FamilySearch Family Tree through third-party software applications, which can synchronize with data in Family Tree.

True.
I export my trees via the no-cost basic version of RootsMagic.

I was afraid that this may be the case. My "main" database is on my RM8 database on my home computer. I have a database of 6600 individuals, not all are linked. Thanks for the info.

I use RM8 to troubleshoot Family Tree but resist urges to build trees in RM8. I also use Puzzilla a lot; Puzzilla is strictly a Family Tree viewer.
It is possible to safely upload carefully selected small trees from RM8 to FT. I hear some contributors like to do it that way.
