How do I add a name the computer missed/didn't identify as a name?
Many times in the census, there is a line to indicate the person had the same last name as the person on the line above. Of course, the computer doesn't know this so it doesn't highlight it/make a text box for the name. Can I add a name manually so the last name can get matched with the first name? It seems like it would be much more difficult for people to search the records without those last names included?
Also, I had another time where a name was written but the computer missed it so I couldn't add it.

The dashed lines get picked up when you do a Review Families. At that point there is a second review of the names and they are associated with the other members of their family and the dashed lines converted to the family surname. On missed names, it is possible that the name was checked previously by someone else and so the computer skipped over it when you were reviewing it. The Review Families will also give greater clarity on missed names so that they can be flagged.

If you are doing "Review Names" Try reporting it through "Transcription Error" in bottom right corner. then select "incomplete" & describe the issue. (At least that is what I've found should work, as it reports it to 'those who know')
