Can "View My Relationship" be updated to show shortest path and favor ancestors?
I understand that the view currently is alleged to show shortest path relationships but that is not the case if one is counting the number of hops. My experience is that it shows the relationship with the shortest number of hops on the initial leg. For example, my relationship to LYNQ-3X4 is that he is my 10th great-grandfather (12 hops). His mother, LT4K-SSJ, would be 13 hops but she shows as my 2nd cousin 2x removed because the MRCA for that relationship, L8PV-VLM, is only 12 hops back even though one must then go three more hops on the other leg to reach LT4K-SSJ (a total of 15). If I temporarily remove a relationship in that path, then it will correctly show her as my 11th great-grandmother.
This issue also exists when using RelativeFinder.org. The direct ancestral relationship does not register.
Simply favoring the shortest number of hops rather than the shortest depth would help with this specific problem but ideally, showing an ancestral relationship would be the way to go.
It would also be helpful to constrain paths to biological relationship only.

Hello @ThomasFAnderson
A good place for your suggestion about "View My Relationship" is the "Suggest an Idea" section of Community. See the "Suggest an Idea" tab up the top of this screen or https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/suggest-an-idea
You are more likely to get the attention of the project managers and engineers. I have had success in getting two of my own suggestions implemented after I have added them to the "Suggest an Idea" section.
I think many others would like to see this improvement as well.
Good luck!
