How do I add it?

And how do I delete "Recommended Tasks" line items from the Home Page? I don't plan to use the suggestions and would like to remove them.

------------------------------------

As far as I can tell, the Home Page is made up of data that FS has pushed to me and not added by me. I would really love to do research from here, but I can't figure out how.

The photos and other boxes cannot be collapsed, making for a pretty cluttered and very long-scrolling page. I know I can remove/hide the photos, but there is no way to keep one and collapse it.

And there is a space issue, some laptops have small screens, and users have poor eyesight, so they enlarge the font making the page even longer.

Boxes can't be hidden, returned, or even moved.

I can't enter my notes.

There are no links to often-used URLs like my tree, the forum, etc., so I have to leave the Home Page to find them.

So far, it has not been really useful.

While I like the idea of the Home Page, it's a good start toward a control panel-style page to manage research. It could be a handy research tool if users were allowed to add to and customize it.

I would love to keep it open while I do research, add notes, to-do items, etc.

Thank you

If you've switched on the "new homepage features" then the "To-do List" doesn't appear.

You'll find this on the top right of your screen.

If you switch it off again, you'll have a useable "To-do List".

Are you certain that the To Do List is missing and not just so far down the page (under the other sections) that it is difficult to find?

You can close the sections by clicking the black arrow button.

You are right, and I am on the new Home Page. Switching between the new Home Page and the old one did not change anything. :-(

Maybe the product is just too new, and I'll have to wait. But I can switch back to the old. Thank you.

    All

    FYI

    Related ( EARLIER / PREVIOUS ) 'Post' ...

This matter was raised about a Week ago ...

    [ I know; as, I was a Participant in that earlier/previous 'Post' ... ]

Regarding the new family search screen

The old family search screen has a "To-Do List" that is quite helpful. Why is this not on the new version?

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/120567/regarding-the-new-family-search-screen

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/120567/regarding-the-new-family-search-screen

    So ...

    That Said ...

    'Yes' ...

The "To-Do List", is MISSING, off the NEW (proposed) "Home"/"Landing" page/screen, of 'FamilySearch' ...

    As an aside ...

That is a DEFINITE disappointment, to those of us, who USE, the "To-Do" List" ...

I TRULY hope, that the "Designers", actually 'see' the error, in their ways; and, INCLUDE, the "To-Do" List", in the NEW (proposed) "Home"/"Landing" page/screen, of 'FamilySearch' ...

    Just my thoughts.

    Hello @.. ..._1

Can I suggest that you provide FEEDBACK on the new Home Page to indicate that you would like the To Do List retained? I just did :)

I also really like your ideas about the Home Page being a place that we can tailor, save links and notes, and a place to launch research from. I find the Home Page pretty useless to me as it stands. The information pushed onto the homepage is all information that I have personally provided. I already know all that.

I think the homepage has been designed for those who don't use FamilySearch very much. The problem is when newbies arrive at the homepage they don't know what to do next. It's overwhelming.

The option to give FEEDBACK is on the left hand side of the new homepage.

    kind regards

    @Kerrebee

    FYI

    It's 'Brett'.

    As you would expect ...

For what it is worth ...

I have ALREADY done that ... provided "Feedback", on the (proposed) NEW "Home"/"Landing" page/screen ...

But, to-date, no acknowledgement, on my "Feedback", from 'FamilySearch'

[ ie. from the "Team", working on, the (proposed) NEW "Home"/"Landing" page/screen ... ]

Whereas, that is NOT to be unexpected; as, they must be, inundated, with "Feedback" ...

I would suggest, that MANY, have ALREADY, provided "Feedback" (ie. BOTH, "Good"; and, "Bad" ... )

    Brett

ps: I was just providing information, in this particular 'Post', to CONFIRM, that the "To-Do List", is actually MISSING, off the NEW (proposed) "Home"/"Landing" page/screen, of 'FamilySearch'; and, that (as far as I was aware) the matter had been previously reported (about a Week ago).

pps: And, also, I am just trying to corelate things, for Participants; as, they are (&, can be) so/quite disjointed

[ There NEEDS to be SOME way, to "Correlate" the VARIOUS "Related", BOTH, 'Post'; and, "Comments' ... ]

[ As, this is clearly, NOT, being done ... ]

    Hello @Brett .

I'm glad you have provided FEEDBACK.

Hopefully the hinge that squeaks gets the grease :)

I tried the "new home page," but since I am a heavy user of the To-Do list, it is not useful to me.
