I did a search on my father. His birth year is incorrect. I have his baptism record. It has his correct year 1905. I tried to index it but it did not allow me to. Why???

    @SUZIEQ88

    FYI

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

    Question: WHAT; and, WHERE, are you trying to "Change", the "Birth" details of your Father ...

    ie.

    ▬ The "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch', for an individual/person; or,

    ▬ The "Discovery Pages", in 'Ancestors.FamilySearch" [ .org ]; or,

    ▬ A "Record" in the Records in 'FamilySearch' (eg. a "Source")

    ▬ OR, somewhere else

    Please advise/clarify.

    'Thank You', in advance.

    Brett

    ps: IF, it is an individual/person, in the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch'; THEN, what is their 'Family Search Person Identifier' (PID) - ie. the x7 Digit (Alpha/Numeric) UNIQUE identifier eg. xxxx-xxx.

    @SUZIEQ88

    FYI

    Just in passing ...

    IF, such is a "Source"; THEN, there is NO need to change.

    And ...

    IF, the "Source" actually applies to your Father; THEN, attach it, regardless of any "Mistakes"/"Errors".

    As ...

    There are often "Mistakes"/"Errors", on "Sources", that is common.

    The main thing, is that the "Index", did its job, you found the "Source".

    Just my thoughts ...

    Brett
