Family member incorrectly listed as deceased but is alive

Cherie Ailene Morgan changed my mom from living to deceased on the find a grave page. I contacted her 2 or 3 times to inform her that my mom is still alive. She didn't correct the change and claimed she didn't know her. I tried to change it multiple times and could not . She just told me to change it and refused to do it herself. I finally feel the need to file a complaint since she did not bother to do as I asked. Below is a record of the changes she did that she now denies.

JaneShureb,
Just a user of the website replying to your help request on a "user community thread' for a message that might better be moved to its own and titled "Family member incorrectly listed as deceased but is alive".
First, I can empathize with your frustration..."been there done that" with Findagrave memorials. sigh.
In regards to C. Morgan and Findagrave, like most of us collaborating or indexing on Family Tree, we do the best we can and likely she is correct in that there is a Findagrave memorial she didn't create. From what I can tell, you have two challenges.
ONE. IMO The actual Findagrave.com memorial (not part of this family tree, but owned by ancestry.com now) shouldn't have even been created as your mother is still living yet someone jumped the gun without looking at the photo of the joint headstone and created a memorial where there is no need for one for a living person. (NOTE C. Mogan's name doesn't appear on the photo or the memorial manager name.)

TWO. Yes, C. Morgan transcribed and entered "deceased" on your mothers Family Tree profile GC94-YCG. whereas your mother is actually living. I found when this happened to us, it is best to be the one to do the following steps below vs. asking C. Morgan:
TIP: When putting in your reason, maybe something like this: "This profile is for my mother NAMED XXXXXX, who is living and not deceased. I spoke to her on the phone today and she is alive and well.. It appears her profile GC94-YCG death was from a Findagrave.com memorial error. Again, my mother is alive and I would like her profile to be private by changing her status to "living". thank you for your time....)
Instructions steps you can follow.....(copy paste from a another volunteer on these boards)
HOW TO CHANGE A MEMORIAL DEATH STATUS FROM DECEASED TO "LIVING"
We are adding a link to a knowledge article giving instructions for changing a record from deceased to living.
Change a deceased person to living in Family Tree • FamilySearch
Change the status of an individual in Family Tree from deceased to living to protect privacy.
Basically, here are the instructions if you are not the contributor of the record;
If you are not the only contributor:
- Navigate to the person page of the individual who is living.
- Tap Details
- In the Vitals section, tap the death date
- On the far right of the screen, tap Edit
- Depending on your device, tap either the circle or rectangle labeled Living
- Enter how you know the person is still alive.
- Tap Save
- Enter an explanation for the system administrator who can review your request. Please provide this information:Your relationship to the individual needing attention
- How you know that the person is alive
- If possible, the living person's current physical address
- Click Submit
A request now goes to FamilySearch Support. A system administrator reviews your request and takes appropriate actions.
(Hat tip to CjTobler, volunteer mod.)
Maybe others can correct or add if I missed something in an attempt to help you. I tried using the revamped help FT link at the upper right but it wasn't working for me at the moment. Or maybe its the user problem. smile.
all the best.
