Missing Contact List for Relatives at RootsTech

In Relatives at RootsTech, I selected Connect for nearly 250 relatives, and I received a message for each one telling me that person was added to my contact list. But when I click on Contacts in Relatives at RootsTech, I keep getting no list, with a message that an unexpected error occurred and to try again later. The same thing keeps happening when I click on Contacts in my account dropdown list.

I believe I read somewhere that "contacts" saved during Roots Tech would still be available after March 25th Was this not true? If so, What was the point in adding contacts to a list for later use??

a year later and im still getting messages that "a problem occurred" and remain unable to see my contact list. This occurs no matter what computer I login from, so it doesn't appear to be hardware related. Can somebody please tell me how to make my contact list display again???

I added close to 500 "relatives at roots tech" last year. That is when my contacts list stopped displaying, and it is still broken. Are we not allowed to add over 500 contacts??? How to fix it???

@kenbabcock1 Relatives at RootsTech is only available for a short time each year. This year it will end on March 31. In order for those relatives to show in your contacts, you have to manually add them to your list.

After you click + CONTACT, they are added to your list and can be accessed later.

I hope that helps. Maile 🙂

@Maile L I believe what @Perry Trost was attempting to find was a way to export the contact list in order to have access during periods other than RootsTech. I, too, would like to be able to use it in that manner but have not been able to find the mechanism. It would be a tremendous aid in continuing collaboration with those relatives who are associated with RootsTech. Appreciate any guidance you may offer. Clark

You cannot export the contact list, but it is a FamilySearch contact list, not a Relatives at RootsTech Contact list. It will remain, even when Relatives at RootsTech is turned off.

Click on your profile picture and then 'Contacts.' This is also available in the FamilySearch Tree app.

I cannot find any specification on how many people can be in your Contact List.

@WilbergClarkN The Relatives at RootsTech list can be used to populate your FamilySearch contacts list which is always available. You just need to follow the steps above. Go to the Relatives list in either the RootsTech app or at RootsTech.org, click the arrow to the right of a name to open the dialog, and click +Contact.

@Maile L Thanks. I'll try that. I attempted to do that last year but was unsuccessful in populating my contacts listing. Last year my contacts list disappeared completely after the RootsTech period. Hopefully something changed over the ensuing period of time. If it appears somewhere within FamilySearch itself, it isn't intuitively obvious--and it appears I'm not the only one seeking guidance in how to preserve it.

@WilbergClarkN I have added some R@R names to my contacts from this year, so I can track the problem. Hopefully they will stay put, put we won't know until next month. Thanks

My contact list shows people I added from last year's R@R. I haven't yet added for this year.

It appears it was a case of the proverbial "operator error". I finally found where the contact list is, and it contained my contacts from last year as well as those I added this year. Thanks to everyone, and I apologize for unnecessarily stirring the pot!

@WilbergClarkN No apologies needed. We are glad you were able to find the list. 🙂
