Unable to create account with membership number
I am trying to create an account for my daughter, but am having difficulty. I am entering her membership number and birthdate, triple and quadruple checked, and I am getting the message that her membership number is invalid. I am getting it right off of the Tools app and her recommend, so I know it is accounted for somewhere. Why am I not able to create an account for her?

We're not sure what is happening. Did you follow the directions below in the link to try and create the account? If not, please try what it says. If you still are having a continuing problem, please use the chat feature on FamilySearch.org or call 1-866-406-1830 and someone will be able to help you.

Is there someone I can connect with and send screen shots with the numbers? I wondered if it was some sort of computer cache/glitch, but it was frustrating. I'm pretty tech savvy and her number was just not being accepted.

Just in passing ...
Just in case ...
Question(s):
Is the ERROR 'Message', actually saying, that the "Membership Number", is "Invalid"?
Or, the the ERROR 'Message', saying, that the "Membership Number", is ALREADY associated, with an Account?
As ...
It is possible, that a 'FamilySearch' Account, may ALREADY exist, for you Daughter; as, is a "Child of Record".
Please note, that aforementioned "Knowledge Article", that ("Moderator") 'DebDT' provided ...

Children who already have an account for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can sign in on FamilySearch.org using the username and password of that account by selecting the Sign-in With Church Account button on the website.

Such is NOT always the case; but. sometimes, it is ...
I know it was, for my Children; and, some others, that I have helped/assisted.
You might just want to check.
I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

Just in passing ...
O.K., Right ...
But, were, you able to get in, through the "Church" Website?
And, just a follow-up ...
Is the "Membership Number" RECENT?
IF, the "Membership Number" is ("Very" ) RECENT (ie. LESS than x24 Hours); THEN, there many NOT have been enough time, for both, the "Membership System"; and, 'FamilySearch', to "Synchronise", to "Create" a 'FamilySearch' Account, for your Daughter.
Hence, 'FamilySearch', DOES NOT, recognise the NEW "Membership Number", for you Daughter; and, considers it is an "Invalid" number.
Sometimes, you have to WAIT (at least) a Day or two, to ALLOW both, the "Membership System"; and, 'FamilySearch', to "Synchronise"; plus, then giving 'Time', for 'FamilySearch', to "Create" a 'FamilySearch' Account, for the individual/person.
Just a thought.
