It looks like Allreuter for me too. Maybe Ollreuter? I cant make the umlaut 'U' on my keyboard though. Does your list have it with the umlaut?
I think I remember finding that in some places especially in the U.S., some would take up a new last name, creating their own after immigrating. If that german name isnt in a list from germany, that could possibly explain why.
As my final opinon, whether its in the list or not, it would be fine to index and submit it as Allreuter. Our job is to just record what is on the document, not anything else.

The child's first name is uncertain too. I would have too put an * because we should not assume the Mother's name is the same. I think I will just return the batch. Your opinion?

I am unable to see the batch. It's saying it's restricted access. Have you already returned it?

It looks like Allreüter to me, too. Given name looks like Wilhaminia. You only want the surname with the umlaut since it's written with it in both instances (the child and father). That name isn't written without the umlaut so you wouldn't index it without the umlaut. Colin, you should have the alphabet with the letters with diacritics on your indexing page. Click on the n with the tilde.
