Should I Index a Crew List

I got a batch in the "Australia, Fremantle—Inward Passenger Lists, 1890–1911" project that had the crew on the record as well as the passengers. It does not say anything about the crew in the project instructions, so I am wondering whether or not I should index the crew list, too.

Thanks! 😁

We have an answer! Thank you for your patience! They have even added instruction in the Project Instructions to deal with this issue!

"UPDATE: Please see the addition to What to Remember about This Project, 8th bullet point: “Do not index crew members found on registers.” This is new instruction for this project. On the subject batch, we should index the names of all of the passengers, but not the members of the crew."

In previous Australian Inward Passenger Lists for Albany that I have indexed, the Project Instructions have stated to index only passengers, and not crew or any unnamed individuals. I've checked one of the Fremantle batch's Project Instructions and there is no mention of this. An oversight? Could this be followed up by a moderator please?

We are following up on this but need the shared batch code so we can look this up? It is the 7 numbers and letters code in brackets at the end of the Project name.

Please hang on to this. We are in the middle of following up on it.
